I photographed Ashley’s younger brother’s wedding in the fall of 2016 and I was thrilled when Ashley asked me to photograph her very own wedding this fall after recently getting engaged!
Ashley and Pete both met in DC and that’s where their story began. Instantly I was so excited to be working up there, as it’s my old stomping grounds, and will always be close to my heart. Any pictures in DC are going to be amazing with all the wonderful monuments and architecture to shoot around!
We met right before Christmas for a sunrise shoot at the Lincoln Memorial. I feel as though we really lucked out because the tourist were few and far between! And maybe the fact it was days before Christmas and very cold (but nothing like what we are currently experiencing on the East Coast! Brrr!).
Ashley and Pete are just the most wonderful couple. It’s a known fact that males aren’t always the biggest fans of pictures in general and Pete was cracking jokes and making everyone laugh from the moment we arrived. Being in front of the camera is always nerve racking in the beginning but they both were just as happy as can be and so easy going. No worries, no demands, just so in love. And so happy to be embarking on this journey starting with engagement photos! Ashley actually texted me that evening thanking me and telling me how much fun they ended up having and how this session was the first time it all started to feel ‘real’ 🙂
Here are a few favorites from Pete and Ashley’s Lincoln Memorial engagement sunrise session! Can’t wait for their fall wedding at the DAR!
